Corvo
Caldeirão trail PRC02COR
Caldeirão (PRC02COR) is a 4.8 km circular walk inside Corvo’s crater. It descends from Miradouro do Caldeirão and loops around the lakes.
The walk
Descend from the viewpoint into the caldera. Turn right at the large rock to circle the lakes anticlockwise. Pass Poço da Velha and keep left of the marsh. Return to the rock and climb back to the viewpoint.
The descent can be muddy and slippery. The trail runs between 400 m and 560 m above sea level. Lake water can rise onto the path. Keep away from the water's edge. Wear walking boots and bring sun protection. Carry drinking water for the walk.
